Chemical Peels: Rebuilding Skin Texture and Glow

How chemical peels work

Chemical peels use natural acids (like glycolic, lactic, or salicylic acid) to gently remove the outer layers of dead skin cells. This process stimulates cell turnover, bringing fresh, healthy skin cells to the surface. It helps improve concerns like dullness, fine lines, acne, and uneven pigmentation.

Choosing the right depth

Peels range from light (superficial) to medium and deep. Light peels require minimal downtime and are great for a quick boost in radiance. Medium peels penetrate a bit deeper to target moderate sun damage or acne scarring, resulting in visible peeling for about 3 to 5 days.

Protecting your skin after a peel

After a peel, your skin will be temporarily more sensitive to the sun. It is crucial to wear a broad-spectrum SPF 30 or 50 daily and avoid direct sun exposure. Keep your skincare routine gentle and hydrating, and do not pick or peel any loose skin, as this can lead to scarring.
