Microneedling in Cardiff: How It Works, Results and Recovery

Microneedling is one of the most reliable ways to improve skin texture, and it works with your own biology rather than against it. Here is the honest picture: what it improves, what a session feels like, and how many you actually need.

How microneedling works

A device with fine needles creates thousands of tiny, controlled micro-channels in the skin. Your body reads these as small injuries and responds by producing fresh collagen and elastin. The result over a few weeks is smoother, firmer, more even skin. The micro-channels also let professional serums absorb far better than they would on intact skin.

What it improves

  • Acne scarring and uneven texture
  • Enlarged pores
  • Fine lines and early laxity
  • Dullness and overall glow
  • Some pigmentation, when paired with the right serums

The session and recovery

We numb the skin first, so it is comfortable. A treatment takes around 30 to 45 minutes. Afterwards your skin looks flushed, similar to mild sunburn, for a day or so, sometimes with light flaking as it renews. Most people are back to normal within 24 to 48 hours. SPF is essential afterwards, and we ask you to pause active ingredients for a few days.

How many sessions

You will see a glow after one, but real change is a course. For texture and scarring we usually recommend three to six sessions spaced about four weeks apart, then occasional maintenance.

How it compares

Standard microneedling works mainly at the surface. If you also need deeper tightening, radiofrequency microneedling goes further, as we explain in our Morpheus8 guide.
