The Bridal Skin Prep Timeline: 12 Months to Wedding-Day Skin

Every season, brides arrive at our Cardiff clinic three weeks before the wedding asking for transformation. We help them glow safely — but the brides who look extraordinary in their photographs are the ones who started a year out. Here is the exact timeline we build, month by month.

12 to 9 months out: diagnose and fix the foundations

This is when the big work happens, while there is time for courses and corrections. A full skin assessment (start with our Enchara IQ analysis), then tackle the structural concerns: acne and scarring courses, redness and thread veins, pigmentation. If you are considering anything structural — HIFU, filler adjustments — it happens now, never later, so results mature and settle completely.

9 to 4 months out: build the glow

The regenerative phase: a polynucleotide or Profhilo course for deep skin quality, monthly microneedling or gentle resurfacing for texture, and a dialled-in home routine. Anti-wrinkle treatment, if wanted, is trialled here — first time at least four months out, so dosing can be refined at the next round.

3 months to 1 month out: refine and rehearse

Final booster top-up at eight weeks. Last anti-wrinkle adjustment at six weeks. Hydrating facials and LED monthly. Makeup trial after your skin programme has taken effect, not before — your base will need less coverage than your artist expects.

The final month: protect, don't experiment

The only rule that matters: nothing new within four weeks of the wedding. No first-time treatments, no new actives, no "quick peel" someone offered. Final two weeks: hydration facial, LED, and sleep. We have talked many panicked brides out of late treatments — it is always the right call.

Frequently asked questions

What if I only have 3 months?

A compressed programme still delivers: one booster course, gentle resurfacing, and strict barrier care. We triage for visible-in-photos impact first.

Should the groom / wedding party come too?

Increasingly they do — see our men's guide, and ask about party bookings. Gift cards make popular bridesmaid gifts.

What does a full bridal programme cost?

Foundation-to-finish programmes typically run £800 – £2,000 across the year. We will phase it with your other wedding budgeting.

Engaged? Start the clock. Book a bridal consultation at The Enchara in Cardiff and we will build your timeline backwards from the date.
